l need an over the counter medication that has no aspirin in it for hip and back pain.

I agree with Darren. White willow bark was the origin for the formulation of aspirin. It contains salicin, whereas aspirin contain acetylsalicylic acid. Structurally they r similar. If u r sensitive or allergic to salicylates though I would advice not to take white willow bark. Some researchers also suggest that people with asthma, diabetes, gout, gastritis, hemophilia, & stomach ulcers should also avoid willow bark. If u do have any of these conditions, & or u take nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) regularly or blood-thinning medication, consult ur doctor or health care provider first before taking any form of willow bark internally.

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) - is for reducing fever and headaches
Ibuprofen (Advil) - for swelling and muscle aches

Why can not u take aspirin? Are u allergic? If yes, u may also be allergic to ibuprofen. You can take naprosyn, sold under the name of Aleve. Aleve is ur best bet because it is an NSAID (nonsteriodal antiinflammatory drug). It will help the inflammation that is causing the pain.
Do u have stomach problems? Tylenol is ur best bet then. Tylenol works in ur brain to help u not notice the pain so much, but it does not do anything for the inflammation that is the cause of ur back pain.
Try a heating pad, or ice pack. Or try alternating heat & ice. One of these should work for you.

Take Tylenol it contains acetaminophen instead of aspirin. It is easier on your stomach and is less likely to cause allergic reactions.

Well it depends on if the pain is joint or muscular. Go to the drugstore and ask the pharmacist on duty. Naproxn sodium is often used for muscle pain. Glucosamine and Condroitn for joint health. Also keep in mind if you are taking herbals, otc is or prescriptions they can interact with another so ask be sure to mention this to the pharmacist as well.
