I am just wondering because my mom always told me to take aspirin while l had food in my stomach. l do not always do that now and if l do not have food in my stomach the aspirin does not really kick in that fast..

So l was just wondering if it is better to have food in your stomach when you take aspirin. :)

yes, but actually to protect the stomach lining. Aspirin can irritate it. You can also try taking an enteric coated aspirin (ecotrin) which does not irritate the lining.

Yes, only because when there is food in your stomach, your stomach starts spilling out digestive juices to digest it. So instead of popping an aspirin an you having an empty stomach, your digestive fluid will be out and ready to dissolve it faster.
