Is it true that if you take aspirin while you have your period it will shorten the duration

Taking aspirin does not shorten your period. It makes you bleed heavier.

There is a way to change when your period arrives with the pill, but it is too late to delay your period for the weekend.

aspirin is a blood thinner, but I do not think it would have much effect on your period since during your period you are actually shedding the lining of your uterus. taken in excess it may actually make you bleed more.

aspirin would make you bleed more, what you are thinking of is probably ibuprofen-does not work really well and since you are on the pill prob will not help at all. the best way to skip period is with the birth control pill, you do not take the placebos and open a new pack and continue with the active pills. you should not be starting your period a week early on ortho tri cyclen. perhaps you took a pill late or missed pills? take a preg test just to be sure.

I do not know about it shortening the duration, but I do know that aspirin thins your blood - and it is not healthy to have really thin menstrual blood - it could even cause you to bleed too much, be careful - deal with what mother nature dealt you and take Midol.

Aspirin makes your blood thinner so that might be the only explaination as to why it would shorten your period.
